Winter Warmer Campaign Calls Upon Gloucester Communities to Rally Around Crisis Fund

Gloucester BID is supporting the Nelson Trust’s Winter Warmer Campaign this year, by calling for donations to help be a lifeline this Christmas for individuals in need.

The Winter Warmer Campaign is led by the Nelson Trust who are urging communities to come together in support of its central crisis fund. This essential fund serves as a critical lifeline for individuals in need, providing emergency accommodation, food, transportation, and other vital services during challenging times.

The items donated will be given to clients of the Nelson Trust as Christmas gifts and pamper hampers.

Donations include:

  • Hot water bottles
  • Bath/shower bombs
  • Chocolates
  • Fluffy socks
  • Pampering facemasks
  • Hand cream
  • Make up
  • Small photo frames
  • Scarves, hats and gloves
  • Small make up bags
  • Colouring books and pencils
  • Notebooks
  • Nail varnish

Emily Gibbon, Gloucester BID Manager, says “We are asking businesses to donate an item or two on the pamper hamper list. We know that it’s a difficult time for everyone, but wouldn’t it be wonderful to get a complete hamper donated by next week!”

As well as these physical donations, the campaign encourages individuals to take the initiative and organise their own fundraising events in their workplaces, community groups, or at home. Participants can showcase their creativity by hosting a diverse array of activities, including:

  • Christmas Jumper Day
  • Mocktail Making
  • Mince Pie Competition
  • Christmas Crafts

"We believe in the power of communities uniting to make a tangible impact," says Andy Jarrett, Fundraising and Events Lead at The Nelson Trust. "By hosting your own events, you can contribute to ensuring that those in need receive the crucial support they require, especially during the winter season."
