Free Easter Craft Workshop Hops into Eastgate Shopping Centre

Families in Gloucester are in for a creative treat this Easter as Eastgate Shopping Centre hosts a fun-filled, free children’s workshop during the Easter school holidays. Taking place on Saturday 19th April from 10.30am to 3.30pm, the event is designed to spark imaginations and offer families a fun and relaxing activity in the heart of the city.

The hands-on Easter and Spring-themed Make & Take Workshop invites children to get stuck into arts and crafts using a fantastic range of colourful and recycled materials. With a choice of spring favourites including chickens, Easter eggs, rabbits, butterflies, and lambs, kids can bring their own creations to life.

Using chalk pens, feathers, collage supplies, and other tactile decorations, children can craft their own unique puppet to take home at the end of the session. Each activity takes around 20 minutes, with room for up to 20 children at a time in a relaxed, drop-in format.

Organisers are expecting over 400 children to take part throughout the day, making it one of the centre’s most vibrant and creative family events of the year. The workshops are free to attend and open to all, with no booking required—just turn up and get creative.

The event aims to provide a joyful space for local families to enjoy time together during the Easter break, all while being inspired by the colours, characters and traditions of the season. With no cost to attend, it’s the perfect way to keep children entertained during the holidays.

The workshops will take place in a dedicated area inside Eastgate Shopping Centre, providing a welcoming and safe environment for families. Parents and carers are encouraged to stay and join in the fun as little ones let their creativity shine.

William James, Marketing and Commercialisation Manager at Eastgate Shopping Centre, said:
“We’re really excited to be hosting this Easter workshop for the local community. It’s a great opportunity for families to come together, enjoy some creativity, and make lasting memories during the school holidays. We love being able to offer free, accessible activities that bring joy to so many children.”

So grab your bunny ears and head to Eastgate on 19th April—your next masterpiece (and maybe a little glitter) awaits!
